A first for Findhorn Hinterland!

The Findhorn Hinterland has become the first site in Scotland, and one of the first in Europe, to receive official recognition as a Nature30 site, part of a global movement to ensure that by 2030 at least 30% of the planet is effectively protected or conserved for nature.
The Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Energy, Gillian Martin, and Nick Halfhide, CEO of Nature Scot, presented the award to Jonathan Caddy, Chair of the Findhorn Hinterland Trust, in recognition of the conservation work done in the woodlands and dunes next to the Park.
The Hinterland is home to many rare species of lichen, insects and fungi, some that are found only in this area. Read the full story.
